Mayor Riddle, Nicholas Ondo, and Chief Osborne

At the regular meeting of the Grove City Borough Council on March 15, 2010,  Grove City Police Chief Dean Osborne and Mayor Randy Riddle presented the 2009 Officer of the Year award to Patrolman Nicholas P. Ondo.

The program, which was started this year by Chief Osborne, is a way of recognizing an officer whose performance was outstanding during the previous year.  The selection was based on a total evaluation of the officer’s performance and included nominations which were submitted by all Department employees.

 Nick has been an officer with the Grove City Police Department since March of 2004.  During the award ceremony, Chief Osborne commended Officer Ondo for ”His professionalism and dedication to the Borough.”   Nick was joined by his family and fellow officers for the award presentation.  He received a plaque and a pin that will be worn on his uniform.  An officer of the year plaque has also been displayed at the Grove City Police Department which will recognize all officers that receive this award.

Not only is it illegal, it also creates a dangerous environment for drivers in the borough.

]]> http://grovecityonline.com/2009/10/leaf-pickup-do-not-rake-leaves-onto-the-street/feed/ 0 Grove City Opposes I-80 Tolling http://grovecityonline.com/2009/08/grove-city-opposes-i-80-tolling/ http://grovecityonline.com/2009/08/grove-city-opposes-i-80-tolling/#comments Wed, 19 Aug 2009 20:45:13 +0000 voakes http://grovecityonline.com/?p=478 Grove City Borough Council took action at their August 17th regular meeting to renew opposition toward plans to toll Interstate 80.  The Council hopes other communities across the state will join them in opposition.  Mayor Randy Riddle commented “The tolling of I-80 will put Grove City and Mercer County at an economic disadvantage to other areas of the state”.  To aid other communities wanting to express their opposition, a sample copy of a Resolution is attached.  Any community wishing to formally adopt the resolution is welcome to use the sample.  Don’t forget to mail copies of the adopted resolution to your various state and federal elected representatives as well as any state associations.
